"The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war"
General of the Army Douglas MacArthur
RETRACING THE STEPS OF OUR TROOPS 'The complete pilgrimage'
We're currently 'investing' an epic journey from the Brisbane Maritime Museum (near the General Douglas Macarthur museum) all the way to Port Moresby and walk the track. We then change out to a new crew walk back along the track with a stretcher to Port Moresby and follow the path of the hospital ships to Brisbane.
We'll start in the heart of Brisbane, cruise down Brisbane River and out past the WW2 gun emplacements of Moreton Island and old submarine nets. We'll sail over the war grave wreck of the Hospital Ship Centaur then onto Cairns.
We participate in the Corel Sea Classic regatta being a race from Cairns to Port Moresby.
Walk the Kokoda Track
Return to Brisbane / Gold Coast
This epic journey will be broken into various legs legs where crew will rotate through positions. The Kokoda Track phases will see number swell as we can take up to 20 each way on the trek.
