"There's something about the smell of the salt air, the sun, the sound of water as I watch the bow slice through as the waves gently roll away.......... I felt a total sense of calm, forgot what it felt to be free again"
That will be the experience of beneficiaries from over a dozen charities who'll cycle through our calendar of events. Our yacht is licensed for groups of passengers, crewed by a rotating team of ex Defence and Emergency Service men & women from the 'Veteran Maritime Warrior Project'.
The beneficiaries of the Charities can unwind & recharge, feel the calming effects of the salt air, sun and water, allowing them to be in the moment, promoting a feeling of ease.
What's in it for us
Our Health.....Every time you help someone you're reaching out a little, that could make some of us feel vulnerable. To overcome that feeling, your body releases a hormone called oxytocin, which helps you buffer stress while increasing social trust and tranquility.
Oxytocin or the 'compassion hormone' can be related to helping others, besides it helps you feel warm and fuzzy. The compassion hormone is good for you. Oxytocin also helps cells repair themselves, store nutrients and helps you regenerate, there's overwhelming evidence that it prolongs your life and quality life at that.
To break the cycle of chronic stress within our selves, a simple act of caring may suffice. (Random act of kindness)
